Look of the Day | Brown Every Day Eye Shadow Shades

It's time for a fresh look of the day! I haven't shared one of these in a while, but I'm excited to get back into it and add some makeup to my busy mom life. Lately, I've been sticking to subtle, easy looks like one swipe of Moca Java easy, but today I decided to go slightly more glam with multiple shades. I can't say enough good things about the new Sunday Brunch eyeshadow collection - it's fantastic! If you haven't tried it yet, you absolutely need to or you will truly be depressed when it sells out.😂 Ok, let's dive into this makeup look!

Today, I'll be using three eyeshadow shades: French Toast, Champagne Shimmer, and Woodland ShadowSense. Among them, two are permanent while one is limited edition. Let me tell you, the new 2024 shadow lineup is absolutely fantastic!🙌

French Toast ShadowSense

I started by using the French Toast Shadow, a new limited edition shade. It's a toasted neutral brown with a semi-matte finish. This means it doesn't have actual glitter flecks, but when the light hits it, it reflects subtly. It's not fully matte or shimmery, hence semi-matte. This shade is perfect for a one-shadow look and ideal for those who prefer a slightly warm neutral tone. It worked well as a transition shade for me, blending it into the crease and slightly above, extending into the outer corner to create a cohesive look. Initially, I planned to use two shadows: French Toast and Champagne Shimmer, but ended up adding Woodland at the last minute.

Champagne Shimmer ShadowSense

I then used Champagne Shimmer ShadowSense. This shade works wonders as a highlighter, perfect for brightening the inner corners or adding a glow to the cheekbones. It's simply amazing. For this look, I applied it with a flat eyeshadow brush, gently patting it onto my eyelids to intensify the color and maintain its vibrant shimmer without it blending away. My aim was to make the champagne hue stand out and be the focal point of the eye makeup.

From there, I went ahead and finished the rest of my eye makeup, but quickly decided I wanted more depth of color. No surprise there 😅 So I grabbed Woodland ShadowSense.

Woodland ShadowSense

The beauty of SeneGence products, ShadowSense in particular, is it’s versatility and the ease to build upon. If I wore the French Toast and Champagne Shimmer combo to work that day and then headed out for happy hour, a date night, or anything else, I'd want my makeup to elevate a bit. The great thing is it's easy to enhance your look without starting over. The other eye shadows lasted all day, didn't smudge, and remained in perfect condition to add to them!

I applied a dot of Woodland in the outer corner and blended it in a sideways V shape. Visualize the alligators chomping in math - the less than and greater than symbols. Blend following that pattern.

I really love how this eyeshadow look turned out. It beautifully blends all the colors together. I initially considered using Americano, but I realized it might clash with my lip color, giving off an orange hue. Therefore, I opted for Woodland instead.

Layered LipSense Look:

On Pinterest, someone recommended a lip color dupe to Gingerbread LipSense on one of my posts. I decided to give it a shot! Lip shades can look different on each person, and this one didn't match Gingerbread LipSense exactly on me. Gingerbread leans more brown on my skin, while this one was a tad lighter. Adding something like Cocoa might have deepened the shading for me personally. Nevertheless, I find this shade stunning, especially for daily wear. To recreate this look, apply one layer of Velvet, one layer of Beige Champagne, another layer of Velvet, and finish with a touch of Pearl gloss.

Overall, I used this makeup look to go to the dentist. It felt classy and a step-up from what I have been wearing these days. It was definitely right up my alley and fun to get to play with colors. Excited to get this type of blog post moving again.

If you have a color combination in mind that you'd like to see, feel free to share! I'm excited to create more dupe options or explore combinations you suggest. I find this super fun and I'm eager to continue doing it.
